15 Hoda Shaarawy Street, Downtown · Traditional Egyptian
Founded in 1959, Felfela is one of Downtown Cairo’s long-running Egyptian restaurants. Its eclectic, lantern-filled interiors are part of the attraction, while the menu brings together familiar staples and hearty local dishes. It is worth fitting into a walk around the old commercial centre.
What to try
Start with ta’ameya, foul and tahina, or choose from the traditional grills and mezze.
Good to know
Make sure you select the Downtown restaurant rather than one of the group’s takeaway or other branches.
